Decatur House offers the Carriage House, Courtyard and Entertaining Parlors for private events that can accommodate small, intimate gatherings or large functions with equal ease and comfort. Our versatile space is sure to fit your needs and includes tours of the historic house and several Decatur House Special Event Coordinators on site to ensure everything runs perfectly.

Carriage House
For more than 20 years, the Carriage House and Courtyard space at Decatur House has provided a beautiful backdrop to countless events, and continues to be recognized as a top-event venue in the DC area. This past November, we started a renovation project to further improve the event spaces at Decatur House.
The Carriage House renovations, completed April 30, 2012, maintained the space's versatility and gracious feel by providing a small increase in capacity and updating the finishes, carpet, lighting and audiovisual systems. The addition of a covered portico has improved the transition between the Carriage House and Courtyard spaces.

Entertaining Parlors

The Entertaining Parlors within the historic house museum are perfect for intimate gatherings. Striking inlayed wood floors, 19th–century chandeliers, full-length mirrors and painted ceilings ornament these elegant rooms.

• 100-110 Standing – Upper Level
• 50 Standing – Lower Level
• 80 Seated Banquet / Theater Style
