The White House Gardens Symposium will be a day-long event, hosted by the White House Historical Association and Rachel Mellon’s Oak Spring Garden Foundation, featuring the history and development of the White House gardens, specifically the West and East Gardens. This informative gathering will convene experts in the fields of horticulture and landscape architecture, focusing on the gardens of Beatrix Jones Farrand and Rachel “Bunny” Lambert Mellon to the present-day White House Gardens. The Symposium will include morning and afternoon panel discussions, a light breakfast, a luncheon program, and an afternoon reception and book signing with author Jonathan Pliska. Please join the Association for this engaging event on May 2, 2019.
