James Hoban Achievement Award

The White House Historical Association created the James Hoban Achievement Award in 2008 to honor an individual who has made a lifetime contribution to enhance the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the White House   Named for and inspired by the Irish-American architect and builder of the President’s House this award recognizes lasting and outstanding service to the history and preservation of the White House.  The first James Hoban Achievement was presented to Robert L. Breeden on March 13m 2008 at a ceremony held at the White House Visitor Center.
