The White House Through the Years Scarf

The White House Through the Ages Scarf. A center medallion featuring a stylized eagle adapted from the White House china used by Abraham Lincoln is surrounded by artists’ renderings that capture the evolution of the exterior of the house from 1811 to 2000. Among the early views is a depiction of the burnt shell of the White House following the fire set by the British during the War of 1812. A modern view captures the appearance of the house in 2000, its two-hundredth year. Classical motifs based on the plasterwork on the ceiling of the State Dining room anchor the design in each corner. 100% silk, hand-rolled hem. Gift box presentation. (33" square)
