North Door Bookends

These bookends depict in detail the remarkable doorway that opens into the Entrance Hall of the White House. Completed in about 1796, it is considered the most magnificent example of the stone carver’s art surviving from early America. They incorporate sandstone from the same Aquia, Virginia, quarry that produced the stone used to build the exterior walls of the White House more than 200 years ago. 9" x 6"
