The White House, Christmas Day 1916. In this new illustration, artist Chuck Fischer recreates the scene on Christmas Day, 1916, when President Woodrow Wilson (1913–21) assembled a caravan of automobiles to distribute gifts to the needy children of Washington, D.C. President Wilson and his wife, Edith Galt Wilson, personally delivered gifts to youngsters along their holiday drive into Virginia. Two other automobiles loaded with toys, candies, fruits, and more were routed through the city. Greeting inside: “Season’s Greetings.” 16 cards with envelopes. 7" x 5"
