Commodore Stephen Decatur Bookmark

Commodore Stephen Decatur led a distinguish career in the U.S. Navy that began in 1798 and continued through the Tripolitan War and the War of 1812. His elegant brick home on Lafayette Square was designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe in 1818, and remains a landmark in the White House neighborhood. It is today the home of the National Center for White House History.
