Back in the Blue Room: Restoring the Bellangé Suite - Episode 21 of the 1600 Sessions

The Bellangé furniture, originally purchased by James Monroe, has adorned the Blue Room in the White House for decades. Thanks to ongoing efforts by the Curator’s Office, the furniture is now being restored as close as possible to when originally crafted. White House Historical Association President Stewart McLaurin interviews Lydia Tederick, Curator of the White House, and Melissa Naulin, Assistant Curator of the White House, to hear more about this restoration process, and the fascinating history of these iconic pieces.
