Originally published in January 2007, the White House Time Machine is a rich media timeline presentation that covers White House history in eight eras, from 1790-2000. We feature actual historic video / audio clips, as well as dramatic recreations of landmark events. Here is a small sampling of the White House Time Machine presentation.

1) The White House Time Machine > 1851-1875 : The Civil War begins with the bombardment of Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861 / President Lincoln's call for troops.

2) The White House Time Machine > 1876-1900 : Alice B. Sanger was hired by President Harrison, the first woman White House employee not involved in domestic work.

3) The White House Time Machine > 1951-1975 : Remarks made by President Nixon at a Banquet Honoring the Premier, during his historic 1972 trip to China.

4) The White House Time Machine > 1976-2000 : Remarks made by President Clinton in 1993, at the Signing Ceremony for an Israeli-Palestinian Peace Agreement.
