Title: Blue Room, Clinton Administration

Description: The Blue Room after the completion of the 1995 refurbishment. Dark sapphire blue silk draperies with blue and gold trim match the wallpaper borders. The Monroe chairs are upholstered in complementary colors. An 1815 English design inspired the new carpet, and the marble topped circular table in the center of the room was purchased by James Monroe in 1817. The portraits pictured are, from left to right, James Monroe, Elizabeth Monroe, and James Madison.
