Picturing the President's House: CALVIN COOLIDGE

Title: The Coolidge Family

Description: President and Mrs. Coolidge pose with their two sons, John and Calvin. When the boys went to boarding school, a Secret Service agent accompanied them. In the summer of 1924, Calvin got a blister when playing tennis at the White House and died of blood poisoning at the age of 16. Calvin’s body was placed in the East Room, with an honor guard, before his funeral.
