Picturing the President's House : DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER

graphic detail

Title: Oil Portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower

Description: Because of the Truman renovation, President Dwight D. Eisenhower did not receive Congressional funds to refurbish the White House. Instead, he focused on decorating the interiors in a historical manner. A putting green was installed on the lawn of the house by the president, an avid golfer. One of the Eisenhowers’ favorite activities while in the White House was to host barbeques for their friends.
