Title: The White House Pool, Ford Administration

Description: President Ford built an outdoor pool on the White House grounds in 1975. The pool is located on top of a gully to the south of the West Wing. While installing the pool, it was discovered that the gully was full of debris from the White House after the British burned it in 1814. Here the President takes a swim for reporters.
