Title: Red Room, Grant administration

Description: Hotels and newsstands sold this image of the Red Room to tourists in the late nineteenth century. The Red Room had gold curtains and red and gold furniture. One can see the red and gold lady’s chairs purchased by Mrs. Grant on the right. After dinner parties, President and Mrs. Grant would serve coffee and whiskey in the Red Room.
