Title: Oil Portrait of Herbert Hoover

Description: President Herbert Hoover. On Christmas Eve of 1929, the Executive Office Building, or West Wing, burned down. It was subsequently rebuilt. Also, the traditional New Year’s Day reception at the White House ended in 1933 when the Hoovers were away on vacation.
