Title: Oil Portrait of Lou Henry Hoover

Description: Lou Hoover used private funds to carry out the historic redecoration and formal entertaining at the White House. She had historic objects in the White House researched and catalogued in a museum-like manner. Ending years of White House racial segregation, Mrs. Hoover invited the wife of an African American Congressman to an official tea.
