Title: "Monroe Room," Hoover Administration

Description: Under Mrs. Hoover’s direction in 1930, the White House Rose Drawing Room became the “Monroe Room.” Reproductions of French furniture ordered by President Monroe stand against rose-colored walls in this photograph. Mrs. Hoover had a great interest in recreating the historic interiors of the White House.
