Title: The Reagans with Prince Charles and Lady Diana

Description: The Reagans join Prince Charles and Lady Diana for tea in the West Sitting Hall during a state visit in 1985. Since it is a private sitting room for the first family, Mrs. Reagan decorated the West Sitting Hall with objects from her California home. This room used to be a stair landing until 1902, when the stairs were removed. During the Truman renovation (1948-1952) walls were added to make the space a separate room.

Date: November 9, 1985
