Picturing the President's House: THEODORE ROOSEVELT

graphic detail

Title: East Room, Roosevelt Administration

Description: Little but the windows, chandeliers, and pier tables remained the same in the East Room after Roosevelt’s redecoration. Twenty-two foot high ceilings, rectangle designed paneling on the walls, red marble mantles, yellow draperies, and a polished wood floor made the room look far different than it had with President Ulysses S. Grant’s decorations.

Date: 1902

Creator: Unknown
