Title: President Wilson's Study

Description: The study (now the Treaty Room) in the White House was where President Wilson preferred to work. It is full of the president’s books, and on the wall hangs Theobald Chartran’s painting, Signing of the Peace Protocol Between Spain and the United States, August 12, 1898. The Resolute desk contains a clock, papers, calendar, pens, pencils, and a blotter. Leather armchairs and one of the mahogany tables ordered by Andrew Jackson for the East Room decorate the rest of the room. During President Wilson’s administration, the first transcontinental phone line made its debut in the White House.
