white house art > "bronco buster (1895, cast c.1903)" by frederic s. remington, 1861-1909
Remington's sculpture expresses the energy and spirit of the American west in the 19th century. This cowboy, trying to tame a wild horse, is one of the most popular bronze sculptures ever made. Remington was able to balance the weight of the sculpture on the two small points where the horse's hooves meet the base.
