Art in the White House
On September 20, 2008, William Kloss presented an illustrated lecture at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. The program was cosponsored by the White House Historical Association. An independent art historian and scholar, Kloss has served on the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, and he is a member of the Portrait Advisory Panel for the U.S. Senate Commission on Art. He is the author of several books, including Art in the White House: A Nation's Pride, which won a 2009 National Indie Excellence Award as well as a 2009 USABookNews award for Best Book in Art for the 2nd edition.
