The White House Historical Association is accepting applications for the full-time position of Retail Executive Assistant. This position would report to the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Sales.
The Retail Executive Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Retail Department and acting as event planner, customer relation manager, and tech support liaison.
The Retail Executive Assistant is responsible for planning on and offsite sales events including annual Liquidation and Wooden Egg sales as well as the Christmas Ornament Kiosk at the National Christmas Tree Festival; assisting with product identification and development such as creating products, online and catalog copy, new vendor accounts, and product description cards; managing the Ornament Resellers Program and assisting bulk ornament purchasers; and keeping current all non-retail inventory such as packaging and store supplies.
This role works directly with our three store locations, as well as internal Association departments on planning events and fulfilling their retail requests.
In collaboration with the Retail Merchandiser, the Retail Executive Assistant creates store signage using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
In collaboration with the Director of Digital Outreach, the Retail Executive Assistant ensures that new products are photographed and added to the website in a timely manner.
In addition, the Retail Executive Assistant will manage day-to-day department operations, including budget, vendor relationships, customer service inquiries, and meeting scheduling and will create documents and spreadsheets at the direction of the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Sales.
The Retail Executive Assistant reports to the Vice President of Retail Strategy and Sales.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to serve as tech support liaison and learn new technology as required, and strong multi-tasking skills. Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Excel a must.
