Join us for a special edition of White House History Live as we bring you a Town Hall with White House Historical Association President Stewart McLaurin and Pete Souza, author of the new book The West Wing and Beyond: What I Saw Inside the Presidency.

Only a handful of people witness the everyday workings of the White House and its longstanding traditions, as well as the most consequential moments and decisions of any presidency. None get more up close than the White House photographers who visually document the entire arc of a president’s time in office. Pete Souza was an Official White House Photographer for President Ronald Reagan and the Chief Official White House Photographer and Director of the White House photo office for the entire tenure of the presidency of Barack Obama. He is the author of several books, including Unguarded Moments: Behind-the-Scenes Photographs of President Reagan, and the #1 New York Times bestseller Obama: An Intimate Portrait. This program will explore Souza’s new book, The West Wing and Beyond: What I Saw Inside the Presidency and provide fascinating insights into life behind the scenes at the White House.

This event will be live streamed on the White House Historical Association's Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 11:30am ET on December 12. We will be taking live questions from our Facebook and YouTube viewers during the event so tune in!
