This sketch depicts the house of Obadiah Brown at 814 E Street N.W. The house was erected in 1821 and used by Brown as a family home and boarding house. Members of Congress including Representatives John T. Johnson (KY) and Ambrose H. Sevier (AK) and Senator Richard M. Johnson (KY) boarded at this house.
