Press Assembled at UN Ambassador Ceremony

This photograph shows members of the press preparing to hear remarks from Bill Moyers, White House press secretary under President Lyndon B. Johnson, regarding the ceremony naming Arthur J. Goldberg the ambassador to the United Nations. In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson persuaded Goldberg to step down from his position as an associate justice of the Supreme Court and succeed Adlai Stevenson II as ambassador to the UN.
