President Roosevelt delivers his first inaugural address

This is a black and white photograph of President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivering his 1933 Inaugural Address from a speakers stand at the Capitol decorated with a distinctive eagle cartouche. Similar eagle motifs could be seen on his inaugural stand in 1941, as well as those of Calvin Coolidge in 1925, Herbert Hoover in 1929, and Harry S. Truman in 1949.
