Gingerbread at the White House: Home for the Holidays Gingerbread House
Just months after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the White House holiday theme, “Home for the Holidays,” conveyed the importance of family and home. President and Mrs. George W. Bush encouraged all Americans to find their strength at home with loved ones. On top of the White House waved an American flag, with two angels, holding stars, on either side.
