President Lincoln's barouche

The barouche in which President Lincoln rode to Ford’s Theatre was built by Wood Brothers of New York, from whom it was purchased by a group of Lincoln supporters and presented to him on the occasion of his first inaugural. Elegantly lacquered outside and upholstered within, the carriage was mounted on six springs and drawn by a pair of horses.
