Tennis Court Behind the West Wing

Created c. 1902-1909.

The Roosevelt family enjoyed this tennis court built behind the Executive Office Building (right), now called the West Wing. This office space was added during Roosevelt's administration. The large building in the background housed the State, War, and Navy Departments and was not connected to the White House complex.
