Jaya Kaveeshwar has served as Senior Advisor to the Director at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History since 2014 and served in various roles at the Smithsonian Institution since 2004. In this role, he is shaping the most impactful presentation of American history to promote the National Museum’s greatest national and international impact. Jay leads strategic planning and special initiatives and fosters collaborative partnerships with other museums, universities, and civic and cultural organizations. Previously Jay served in the Smithsonian’s Office of Planning, Management and Budget and at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, where he served as Head of Institutional Advancement. Prior to the Smithsonian, Jay worked in finance in various roles including as Director of Capital Markets for Federal Realty Investment Trust, a large, publicly-traded real estate firm. He received his A.B. from Dartmouth College.
