Commodore Stephen Decatur Luncheon - January 5, 2021

Since 2010, the White House Historical Association has been based in historic Decatur House on Lafayette Square in Washington, DC. Each year we honor the namesake of our headquarters with the Stephen Decatur Luncheon that takes place on or around his birthday of January 5th.

In 2021 we welcomed a number of distinguished guests to discuss Decatur House, the legacy of Commodore Stephen Decatur, and objects from his life that are in various collections, including at the United States Naval Academy Museum. Panelists include:

  • Katherine Malone-France, Chief Preservation Officer, National Trust for Historic Preservation
  • Osborne Phinizy Mackie, co-Author, The Stephen Decatur House: A History
  • Commander Claude Berube, Director, United States Naval Academy Museum
