Deesha Dyer, once a hip-hop journalist and community leader, didn’t expect her path to eventually lead to the White House. Dyer applied for a White House Internship in 2009 as a thirty-one-year-old part-time community college student. This opportunity led to a full-time position and two promotions, later culminating in a more prominent and exclusive role: social secretary at the White House for the Obamas!

Dyer wrote Undiplomatic, a book about her experience as social secretary. The story is also a personal narrative, exploring a journey of personal and professional development, peeling back a curtain into the White House, and revealing details about her own self-doubts and imposter syndrome while planning the most decadent, entertaining, and fun events at 1600 Pennsylvania.

You don’t want to miss out on this riveting tale, which exposes some of the intricate details of the epicenter of politics while also being a tale of inspiration and personal growth.

You’re invited on Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 pm ET, to hear this fascinating account, along with a special guest as moderator, Tina Tchen, executive vice president and chief strategy and impact officer for the Obama Foundation!
