Presidential Sites Summit 2022: George W. Bush Presidential Center Dinner

This photograph by Grant Miller was taken on March 16, 2022 at the Presidential Sites Summit. The Summit was hosted by the White House Historical Association and took place in Dallas, Texas from March 15 to March 17. Held every two years, the Summit included attendees from institutions all over the country and from across the spectrum of the historical profession to discuss key issues and consider the latest trends in topics ranging from operations to outreach and interpretation.

The March 16 evening event included a program, reception, and open house at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. The reception and program took place in the museum’s Freedom Hall with honored guest and speaker First Lady Laura Bush. The program was a discussion between former George W. Bush administration alumni on the subject of the lighter side of the presidency, with stories and memories that most people do not get to hear or experience. After the program, attendees visited the permanent and temporary exhibit spaces in the museum. Speakers included Ken Hersh, Lindsey Knutson, Candi Wolff, Jared Weinstein, Spencer Geissinger, Kevin Sullivan, Anita McBride, Stewart McLaurin, and Pat Mordente.
