About this Video
The Association’s Chief Publishing Officer, Marcia Anderson discusses "The White House: An Historic Guide" with Colleen Shogan, Senior Vice President and Director of the David M. Rubenstein National Center for White House History. As the title celebrates sixty years continuously in print this summer, Marcia Anderson shares her memories of nearly twenty five years overseeing the editorial and production process, years in which the guide has evolved while continuing to fulfill Mrs. Kennedy’s vision in the twenty-first century. The conversation highlights major turning points in the scope, purpose, and production of the guide, including the impact of 9/11 and the transition from hot type and film to electronic layouts and digital photography.
