Secretary Haaland Speaks at the 2022 National Christmas Tree Lighting
This photograph of Secretary of the Interior Debrah A. Haaland speaking at the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and concert was taken by Matthew D'Agostino for the White House Historical Association on November 30, 2022. The celebration took place on The Ellipse, located just south of the White House. The 2022 tree lighting was the second presided over by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Secretary Haaland and President and Dr. Biden were joined in the festive celebration with by host LL Cool J and performances by Shania Twain, Yolanda Adams, The Estefans, Andy Grammer, Ariana DeBose, Joss Stone, and the United States Marine Band.

These dogs were not only important in the lives of the presidents and their families, but also to the American public.
