The U.S. Army Band Performs on the South Portico
This photograph of the U.S. Army Band performing on the South Portico during the White House Easter Egg Roll was taken by Matthew D'Agostino. Other military bands including the U.S. Marine Band, the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the U.S. Navy Band, the U.S. Air Force Band entertained guests during the event. The 141st White House Easter Egg Roll took place on the South Lawn of the White House and the Ellipse on April 22, 2019. Festivities included games like hopscotch, musical eggs, drawing lessons, tennis games, and the Easter Egg Roll Race. Guests were also greeted by variety of costumed performers including the White House Easter Bunny, the PAAS Easter Bunny, and the Racing Presidents who are the mascots of the Washington Nationals baseball team. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed guests from the South Portico, officiated an Easter Egg Roll Race, and participated in activities such as reading children’s books and coloring with children.
