St. John's Church
This photograph of St. John's Church from atop the historic Hay Adams Hotel was taken by Matthew D'Agostino on July 25, 2013. Founded in 1815, St. John’s Episcopal Church is the second oldest building on Lafayette Square. Benjamin Henry Latrobe, the architect of the Capitol and several other famous buildings, designed the church. St. John's is known as the “Church of the Presidents”- every president since James Madison has attended services in the building.
