President's Bedroom, John F. Kennedy Administration

This photograph of the presidents bedroom was taken by Robert Knudsen on May 3, 1962, during the John F. Kennedy administration. President Kennedys mahogany four-poster bed, visible on the far right, was dressed in a blue and white cotton toile with a pattern of angels, garlands, and flowers. The room was furnished with Chippendale-style furniture and two paintings by Childe Hassam.
