Page two of a letter written by future president George Washington is part of the Tudor Place collection. In it, he addresses being given command of the Continental Army. Tudor Place was the Washington, D.C., home of Thomas and Martha Custis Peter. Martha Custis Peter was First Lady Martha Washington's granddaughter.
